Who is Beto O’Rourke?
Beto O’Rourke is a Texas 16th congressional district representative in the United States House of Representatives since 2013. Currently, O’Rourke is seeking the nomination for President of the United States in 2020.
He used to be a musician for a brief amount of time. He became the bass guitarist in the post-hardcore band Foss.
2020 Presidential Election
The speculations that O’Rourke might run for the presidential election started in late 2018. The New Republic said his campaign was the beginning of a bid for the presidency before the midterm elections.
Maria Cardona, a Democratic strategist, said O’Rourke has name recognition, a young fresh face with a sprinkling of a woke, new perspective. She also said he could be an upbeat candidate.
The El Paso TV station reported the decision of O’Rourke of running for the President in 2020. O’Rourke also announced it to be true.
Personal Life of Beto O’Rourke
O’Rourke is a fourth-generation Irish American. Furthermore, some of his maternal ancestors settled in American colonies in the 18th Century. He has a total of two younger sisters, out of which the younger one born intellectually impaired. His father was the County commissioner and County Judge public office in El Paso. O’Rourke’s father died while riding his bicycle when a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am struck him from behind on the 3rd of July, 2001. It caused him several injuries and was dead at the scene.
O’Rourke married Amy Hoover Sanders. They married on the 24th of September, 2005. Amy Sanders is the daughter of Louann and Bill Sanders. They have three children together. They live in El Paso’s Sunset Heights area. Furthermore, O’Rourke is a lifelong Roman Catholic.
