Who is Brett Kavanaugh?

Brett Kavanaugh is an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. He was born on February 12, 1965. Kavanaugh, while ago, worked as a U.S. Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. Now, Donald Trump nominated Kavanaugh for winning in Anthony Kennedy. Also, he served as a staff lawyer in many offices of the federal government.

Kavanaugh enrolled at Yale University and graduated from there. Also, he joined the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Following his graduation, he started to work as a law clerk. However, Starr left the D.C. Circuit for the position of the head of the Office of Independent Counsel. Then, Kavanaugh followed and assisted him in numerous investigations of President Bill Clinton. This included the draft of the Starr Report that urged Clinton’s impeachment.

Later, he worked for the George W. Bush campaign in the Florida recount in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Then, he joined as the White House Staff Secretary in the administration. Also, he was a central figure for identifying and confirming judicial nominees.

Furthermore, Kavanaugh was a nominee for the D.C. Circuit to the U.S. Court of Appeals in2003by the Presidential Bush. They stalled charges of partisanship for three years. D.C. Circuit ultimately confirmed him after a series of negotiations between Republican and Democratic U.S. Senators, in May 2006. He was considered as the most or the second-most conservative voting record on the D.C. Court between the years 2003 to 2018 in every policy area.

Likewise, on July 9, 2018, Kavanaugh got nominated by President Trump for the position emptied by the retired Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy. At first, Kavanaugh’s name was on the shortlist of the nominees by the Supreme Court. Before that, Christine Blasey Ford, Palo Alto University Professor of Psychology, contacted a Washington Post tip line, stating that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were in high school. Also, the other two women accused him of sexual misconduct, though the Kavanaugh denied all accusations. This caused, Senate Judiciary Committee to hold a hearing over the allegations. The vote delayed for further FBI investigation. Then the Senate confirmed the nomination of Kavanaugh on October 6, 2018, by a vote of 50-48.

Kavanaugh is a married man. He married to the personal secretary of President George W. Bush, Ashley Estes. The couple tied their knot in 2004. Also, they have two daughters together. Kavanaugh is currently residing in Chevy Chase Section Five, Maryland, with his family.
