Jean was born on July 30, 1948, in Casablanca, Morocco. He is of Andalusian Spanish descent. Jean’s mother died when he was in his teenage. His father used to be a linotypist. Jean’s parents were the natives of Jerez de la Frontera. Later, they headed towards South Africa for survival and to get new jobs. They escaped from Francoist Spain. Jean has learned Spanish from his parents and family.
Around 17 years, he moved to France to pursue acting studies in Cours Simon drama school. Jean has also served in the French army, as it was obligatory after his family gained French citizenship. He has done his schooling from Lycee Carnot and Lycee Lyautey.
