Samson Reinhart
Samson Reinhart is a Canadian professional ice hockey center who plays with the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League(NHL). He was born on the 6th of November, 1995 in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to Theresa and Paul Reinhart. He went on his father’s footsteps as a hockey player, who was also a hockey player and served as an NHL defenceman. Sam has two brothers named Max and Griffin. Reinhart attended the Collingwood School which was located in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. During his high school days, Reinhart enjoyed playing sports like tennis, baseball, lacrosse, and soccer. He considers himself a huge soccer fan.
Samson Reinhart played minor ice hockey in a country club named Hollyburn in West Vancouver where he started as a defenseman but later ended up as a center. He then went to play for the Vancouver Northwest Giants. Reinhart obtained up to 38 goals along with 40 assists in his first and only full season with the Northwest Giants. Reinhart won the 2010-2011 BC hockey Major Midget League championship and finished fourth in the 2011 Telus Cup where he received the top scorer and top Forward awards. Sam also won gold with the British Columbia U16 team in the 2011 Canada Winter Games midway through the 2010-11 season.
Career
Reinhart got into selection as the 15th overall in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft by the Kootenay Ice. Reinhart played four games with Kootenay Ice in the 2010-2011 season. In his first WHL game, he scored against the Edmonton Oil Kings which gave the victory to his team. He also played one game for the Ice in the 2011 Memorial Cup.
Sam Reinhart registered 62 points in 2011-2012. 28 of his scores were tied for the Ice lead which also became the most by any 16-year-old rookie in the WHL. His 62 points made him fourth among all the WHL rookies in history. He got awards for the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as the top rookie in the WHL. Reinhart got into the selection to represent WHL in the second full whole season for one game in Vancouver, his hometown, for the annual 2012 Subway Super Series against Russia. Here he scored the game-winning shootout goal. He scored his first hat trick on January 27,2012 against the Prince Albert Raiders. He finished the season securing a total of 35 goals, 50 assists, and 85 points. Reinhart got the name as captain of the ice for the 2013-14 WHL season on April 2, 2013.

Reinhart was tied with John Negrin with 8 assists for the Ice franchise record for most consecutive games with an assist on October 9,2013. He also played for the 2013 Subway super series for the WHL. Furthermore, he was also the captain of the team in the latter games. Sam was the second pick of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. He also signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Sabres on July 12,2014. On October 25,2014 he scored his first NHL points in a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks. He returned to Kootenay after 9 games with the Sabres and joined Rochester Americans after the end of the Ice’s season. His first career NHL hat-trick was on January 10,2016 against the Winnipeg Jets. Reinhart then re-signed with the Sabres to a two-year contract on September 19,2018.
Reinhart plays with jersey numbered 23 for Buffalo. It is the same as his father Paul Reinhart during his NHL tenure. Sam prefers Samson over Sam and his nickname with the Sabres is “Reino”.
