Pat Sajak is a famous name in the television industry which has established himself as a well-known host. He started his television career in 1968 and has worked in the industry to date. Likewise, he gained worldwide attention when he hosted the American television game show ‘Wheel of Fortune.’ This work has also led him received a prestigious award, The Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host for nineteen times.

Pat Sajak‘s full name is Patrick Leonard Sajdak, born on 26 October 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. His parents’ names are Leonard Anthony Sajak and Joyce Helen. Moreover, he also grew alongside his brother David Sajak and half-brother William Backal from his mother’s second marriage. Unfortunately, his father died when Pat was small. As a result, his early childhood became very hard due to financial problems. In addition, he became emotionally hurt due to his father’s death and his parents’ separation.

Pat Sajak struggled with poverty from a young age. Nevertheless, he always had his hopes high and studied harder to live a successful life. Pat finished his high school education at Farragut High School. He then began to look for different jobs and worked as a desk clerk at a hotel in Chicago. Likewise, he also enrolled at Columbia College, located in Chicago, for his further studies. So Pat was working and studying at college at the same time.

He then received an offer to host a radio show. And the working time was from midnight till 6 am in the morning. So though the work was hectic, he worked a radio job and took along his studies. This is the time when he realized his love for entertaining people through his hosting skills.

Pat also hosted ‘An Officer and a Movie’ which is a radio show. However, he soon received offers for hosting television shows. Moreover, he became prominent and came into the limelight when he started hosting the game show ‘Wheel of Fortune’ in 1981. The audience loved him for his earthy demeanor and quick wit. Furthermore, Pat holds the world record of having the longest career for hosting the game show.
