Gerald Lee McRaney is professionally an American television and movie actor. He is a big name in the entertainment industry.

He was a series regular in the first season of Jericho as well as the final season of Deadwood. Furthermore, he appeared in a recurring role as the main antagonist Mason Wood in season eight of the series Castle. Also, he has a recurring role as Dr. Nathan Katowski in the NBC series This Is Us. This role earned him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Furthermore, he played Barlow Connally in the A&E series Longmire recently.

McRaney was born to Clyde and Edna McRaney. McRaney attended college at the University of Mississippi. However, McRaney worked in the Louisiana oil fields before finding success as an actor.

Gerald’s debut movie was Night of Bloody, released in 1969. He played the role of Wesley Stuart in the movie. He then played the role of Terrance Bradford in the movie Women and Bloody Terror the following year. Gerald then took a 4-year break from movies and played the role of David Sherman in the movie Keep off My Grass! in 1974. Furthermore, he played in the movie The Brain Machine as Willie West. Gerald then played the role of Bastian’s father in The Never Ending Story in 1984. In 1986, he played the role of Jake Wheeler in the movie Jackals. Two years later, he played in the movie Hansel and Gretel as the kids’ father.

Gerald then played the role of Ray Preston in the movie Saving Shiloh in 2006. Three years later, he played Gus Horton in the film Get Low Rev. In 2010, He played the role of General Morrison in the movie The A-team. He played in two movies in the year 2011, namely J. Dedgar Judge and The Umpire. He was born on the 19th of August, 1947, in Collins, Mississippi, U.S. McRaney married actress Delta Burke, his third wife, on the 28th of May, 1989.
He played a Marine Corps veteran on Simon & Simon and a Marine Corps officer on Major Dad. Therefore, he is very supportive of the veteran and soldiers. Furthermore, he made many visits to support the soldiers in Operation Desert Storm.

McRaney underwent successful lung cancer surgery in Houston, Texas, in August of 2002.

He gave his first presidential vote for Democrat Hubert Humphrey in 1968. Furthermore, at the 1992 Republican National Convention, McRaney introduced Second Lady Marilyn Quayle.
Later, McRaney supported Republican candidate John McCain for president in 2008. Furthermore, he appeared in TV commercials for the National Rifle Association.
