Jay Inslee was born on the 9th of February, 1951 under the name Jay Robert Inslee in Seattle, Washington, United States. He is the son of Frank E. Inslee and Adele A. Brown Inslee. Frank was a high school counselor and football coach who later became an athletic director whereas Adele was a sales clerk at Sears. Furthermore, the details about his siblings are unknown.

Education

Jay attended the Ingraham High School located in Seattle, Washington. He graduated from high school in 1969. Later, he attended Stanford University to study medicine. However, he dropped out of college after a year and later attended the University of Washington. Inslee graduated in 1973 with a B.A in economics degree. Later, he attended the Willamette University School of Law and graduated with a J.D. degree in 1976.

Jay started his political career by running for the Washington House of Representatives position. His opponent was Lynn Carmichael for the elections. He lost the blanket primary elections, however, he won the general election with 52% of the votes. Lynn had 48% of the votes. previously, this position was held by Jim Lewis. Jay Inslee started office from the 9th of January, 1989. He remained in the position till the 11th of January, 1993. His position was later taken by Dave Lemmon.

Jay then became the member off the U.S House of Representatives from Washington’s 4th District from the 3rd of January, 1993. Previously, this position was taken by Sid Morrison. He served this position until the 3rd of January, 1995. Doc Hastings took his position.

Inslee announced that he would be the candidate for the governor of Washington elections on the 27th of June, 2011. He won the elections against Rob McKenna with 51% of the votes. He then started the office as the 23rd Governor of Washington from the 16th of January, 2013. Previously,  Christine Gregoire took this position. The Lieutenant Governor under him was Brad Owen previously and currently, it is Cyrus Habib.

He ran for the second term in the governor position in 2015. His opponent was Bill Bryant, whom he bet by 54% of the votes. He is going to run for the third term of governorship in 2020.

Many speculated Inslee to run for the presidential position in 2020. He announced his wish to run for the 2020 presidential elections on the 1st of March, 2019 against current president Donald Trump. However, his campaign received a lower amount of polls and there were no signs of victory. Therefore, he suspended his campaign on the 21st of August, 2019.
