Jeffrey was born as Jeffrey Edward Epstein. He grew up with his younger brother Mark and held an American nationality and of mixed ethnicity. Epstein stood the height of 1.83 m and weight about 181 lbs. He attended Lafayette High School. After his graduation in 1969, Jeffrey attended classes at Copper Union. Later, he enrolled in New York University, the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. However, before graduating, he dropped out.
Career
- In Jeffrey’s initial days, he started his career by teaching calculus and physics at the Dalton School, located in Manhattan.
- Later, in 1976, he worked as an options trader at the Bear Stearns in the product division.
- In 1980, he was a limited partner at Bear Stearns.
- Eventually, he founded “J. Epstein & Co.,” his own financial management firm, in1982.
- Meanwhile, his company had the assets of clients. This was worth the net worth of more than US $1 million.
- Subsequently, he changed the name of the firm to the Financial Trust Company.
- In 2004, Epstein and Mortimer Zuckerman, the equal partners in the venture, committed up to $25 million to finance Radar.
Legal Issues of Jeffrey Epstein
In March 2005, a woman accused Jeffrey that her 14 years old stepdaughter had been taken into his mansion to strip and message Jeffrey. So, Police started the investigation, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Then, the investigator found Jeffrey had been paying many escorts to perform sexual acts on him and also to the girl who was below 18. Moreover, the FBI found 36 girls among them, and many of them filed a lawsuit against Jeffrey.
In June 2008, Jeffrey pleaded guilty for soliciting prostitution from girls included the girls as young as 14. Then, the court sentenced him for 18 months to prison with work release. However, he was allowed to go for the office for 12 hours a day and six days a week. Eventually, after spending 13 months in prison, he got released on probation. However, he was registered in New York State as a level three sex offender.
Eventually, on July 6, 2019, at the Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, he again got arrest for the sex trafficking charges. He was charged with sex trafficking and conspiracy to traffic minors for sex.
Death
On August 10, 2019, Jeffrey’s body was found hanged in his cell. The result of his autopsy had found that Jeffrey sustained many breaks in his neck bones.
