Kevin Costner was born on January 15, 1955, as the name Kevin Michael Costner, in Lynwood, California, United States. The 65 years old actor, has the star sign of Capricorn. He is a son to mother, Sharon Rae, who was a welfare worker and to father, William Costner, who was an electrician and later, a utility executive of Southern California Edison. He is the youngest son in the family. Likewise, he grew up with two elder brothers named Daniel Craig Costner and Mark Douglas Costner. Besides, the actor was not academically inclined in school. He enjoyed sports, took piano lessons, wrote poetry, and sang in the First Baptist Choir. He spent his young age in different parts of California.

While returning from his honeymoon, he met Richard Burton on the plane, who fueled his ambition of becoming an actor. Burton’s advice to him was to drop everything else if he wishes to make a career in movies. After that, he gave up his marketing job and started taking acting lessons five nights a week with the support of his wife. He also did odd jobs to support his career and family, including works as a truck driver and Hollywood tour guide. He also piloted the Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland.

In 1983, he started his acting career as the dead friend Alex in the movie “The Big Chill.” He was noted for his role as Scott Glenn’s endearingly goofy brother in the American Western film, “Silverado” in 1985.
