Early Career
After Nikki’s education was completed, she moved to Los Angeles, where she started taking up odd jobs while trying to land modeling or acting assignments. She was featured in a TV show named ‘Meet My Folks’ and was noticed by agents and started receiving offers to appear in commercials. Eventually, she appeared in a commercial along with her sister.
2007-2012
Nikki Bella was signed by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in June 2007 to a developmental contract with her and her twin sister Brie Bella. They eventually had been assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). They formed the duo ‘The Bella Twins’ and made her ring debut on September 15, 2007. Together they defeated Nattie Neidhart and Krissy Vaine with Victoria Crawford as the special guest referee in their debut match. In the meantime, Nikki fought in some mixed tag team matches, teaming up with Kofi Kingston and Robert Anthony. The duo kept fighting in tag team matches in 2008 and 2009 and became very popular.
The Bella Twins both drafted to the Raw brand as part of the 2009 supplemental draft on 15th April 2009 and made their Raw debut in an 8 Diva Tag team match. They also began to show friction for the second time since joining WWE in March 2012. Moreover, the twins appeared at their first independent wrestling show in Newburgh, New York at Northeast Wrestling on the date of 1st May 2012.
2013-Present
The Bella Twins returned to WWE on March 11, 2013, and made their in-ring return facing and defeating The Funkadactyls. In 2014, Nikki again got an opportunity to win the ‘WWE Diva championship.’ There she defeated AJ Lee in a ‘Survivor Series’ match to earn it and went on to keep the title for almost 10 months. This was the record for the longest-reigning WWE Diva champion. She defended the title against multiple opponents and eventually lost it to Charlotte in a ‘Night of Champions’ match. After this, she took a break from wrestling due to her neck injuries.
Nikki made a surprise return at SummerSlam after ten months of inactivity on August 21, 2016. She teamed with Natalya and Alexa Bliss and defeated Becky Lynch, Naomi, and Carmella. She kept on fighting against several opponents along with her sister. Apart from tag team matches, she also participated in singles matches. ‘The Bella Twins’ also made an appearance at the 25th Anniversary of Raw in 2018.
