Jokic was born on the 19th of February, 1995 in Sombor, Serbia, FR Yugoslavia. There is no information about Mr. and Mrs. Jokic. However, he has two older brothers, where his younger brother was a basketball player for the University of Detroit Mercy.
The Career of Nikola Jokic
Before turning professional, Jokic played basketball in Vojvodina Srbijagas. He became popular due to his skills and was signed by Mega Vizura in 2012. He appeared in a total of 5 games for the team. The Denver Nuggets selected Jokic in the 2014 NBA Draft as the 41st overall pick on the 26th of June, 2014. He signed a contract with the team on the 28th of July, 2015. For his debut season, he played a total of 80 games for the Denver Nuggets team. Out of the 80 games, he started a total of 55 games with .512 field goal percentage and had 7 rebounds per game
In the 2016-17 season, Jokic played a total of 73 regular games with the Denver Nuggets with a total of 59 games started with .577 field goal percentage and had 9.8 Rebounds per game. National Team Career
Jokic got to take part in the FIBA Under-19 World Championship as a part of the Serbian U-19 national basketball team. He won a silver medal with the team. Furthermore, he was a part of the Serbian national team for the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament. He also earned MVP honors with the team.
Nikola Jokic also attended the 2016 Summer Olympics and won the silver medal with the team. He then announced his participation at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup on the 24th of May, 2019 as a part of the Serbian national team.
