She worked in this position till 1996. Later, she took the place of Senior Advisor on International Affairs in 1996 and worked there for only a year. Theresa then made her way into the political sector and became the counselor for the Durnsford Ward in 1986 on the London Borough of Merton. She took the position of Chairman of Education and Deputy Group Leader till 1994.
Theresa entered the Parliament being elected with 49.8% of the votes against competitor Andrew Terence Ketteringham. She then became a member of William Hague’s front-bench Opposition team. Queen Elizabeth II then appointed Theresa as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on the 13th of July, 2016. He stayed in the position for three years in total and resigned on the 27th of March, 2019. Furthermore, she was succeeded by Boris Johnson.
