Reno has married thrice and has divorced twice. However, he was already married before he stepped into the acting field. His first wife is Genevieve Reno, whom he met in 1976. After dating for a year, the couple tied a knot in 1977. Jean was 29 years old when he became married. This couple together has two children.

Their first child, a daughter named Sandra Elisabeth Moreno, was born on August 22, 1977. Likewise, their second child, a son named Mickael Reno, was born in 1980. Sadly, Jean and Genevieve divorced in 1995 after living together for eighteen years.
