Bode Miller
Who is Bode Miller?
Samuel Bode Miller is a former American World Cup alpine ski racer. He was born on the 12th of October, 1977 at Easton, New Hampshire, U.S. Miller is an Olympic and World Championship gold medalist, a two-time overall World Cup champion in the years 2005 and 2008, and the most successful male American alpine ski racer of all time.
Achievements
Miller is considered one of the greatest World Cup racers of all time with 33 race victories. Also, he is one of five men to win World Cup events in all five disciplines. He is the only skier with five or more victories in each subject. In 2005, Miller and Lindsey Vonn won the overall World Cup titles for the first U.S. sweep in 25 years.
Miller has won a total of two silver in giant slalom and combined in Salt Lake City 2002, gold in super combined, silver in Super-G and a bronze in downhill in Vancouver 2010 in the World Championships, and a bronze in Super-G in Olympics in Sochi 2014.
Miller ended his career with six World Cup titles, and Miller switched his attention and investment to horse racing while his skiing career was coming to an end. He officially retired from ski racing in October of 2017.
Personal life of Bode Miller
Miller has a daughter, who is named Neesyn Dace and born in 2008 with Chanel Johnson and a son, who is named Samuel Bode and born in 2013 with Sara McKenna. Miller married professional beach volleyball player and model Morgan Beck on the 7th of October, 2012. They gave birth to son Nash Skan Miller who was born in 2015. Also, a daughter Emeline Grier was born in 2016. The couple announced that they were expecting their third child together in April 2018. 19-month old Emeline died on the 10th of June, 2018, after drowning in a swimming pool at a neighbor’s house in Orange County, California. Their second son was born on the 5th of October, 2018. On the 12th of August, 2019, both Bode and Morgan announced they were expecting twin boys on NBC’s Today Show.
Miller’s younger brother Chelone was a snowboarder who competed in the 2010 Winter X Games. As a result, he suffered a traumatic brain injury in a 2005 dirt-bike crash. He also suffered from seizures subsequently, leading to his death in 2013 at age 29.
Miler has a cousin named Liko Kenney, who shot a police officer 4 times. He then ran him over with a car twice.
