Gwen Renee Stefani is an American singer, songwriter, actress and record producer. She is a co-founder and the lead vocalist of the band “No Doubt” whose singles include “Just a Girl,” “Spiderwebs” and “Don’t Speak” from their breakthrough studio album “Tragic Kingdom” from 1995. Gwen has diversified her career with her clothing and accessories lines, L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Lovers. Gwen was born on October 3, 1969, in Fullerton, California, United States. She is currently 50 years old. She is a daughter to father, Dennis Stefani who worked as a Yamaha marketing executive and to mother, Patti who worked as an accountant before becoming a housewife. Furthermore, She has two younger siblings named Jill and Tod and an older brother named Eric.
Early Life
Gwen heard folk music and artists like Bob Dylan and Emmylou Harris at a young age. She also developed a love for musicals such as The Sound of Music and Evita. Stefani attended Loara High School in Anaheim, California. She was dyslexic. Stefani had made her onstage debut during a talent show at Loara High School to sing “I Have Confidence,” from The Sound of Music. She had worked at the ice cream parlour named “Dairy Queen.” She then attended Fullerton College before transferring to California State University, Fullerton.
Career
Stefani started her career by providing vocals for her brother, Eric’s band, No doubt. In 1991, No Doubt was signed to Interscope record. Their debut album was also released. The band released safe album “The Beacon Street Collection” in 1995 which was successful. Subsequently, they released their third album “Tragic Kingdom” whose single “Don’t Speak” topped the year-end chart. In 2000, No Doubt released “Return of Saturn” which retained the ska-punk and reggae influences but had slower ballad-like songs. The lyrics reflected the singer’s relationship with Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale.
2003-2013
In 2003, Stefani founded her own fashion line called L.A.M.B., an acronym of her debut solo album which manufactures apparel and fashion accessories and a fragrance called “L.” and later another called Harajuku Lovers. She made her acting debut playing Jean Harlow in Martin Scorsese’s “The Aviator” in 2004 for which she was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Her second solo album “The Sweet Escape” was released in 2006 which was a collaborated effort of many artists. Critics called the album a “hasty return” that repeated her previous album with less energy. She again started working with No Doubt and began songwriting and No Doubt went on to headline in the Bamboozle Festival and released the album a “Push and Shove” in 2012 in the United States.
2014-Present
In 2014, Stefani made a surprise appearance at the Coachella festival. The same year, she also confirmed that she would join the seventh season of “The Voice” as a coach. She appeared as a featured artist on Maroon 5’s song “My Heart Is Open. Then, she collaborated with Calvin Harris on the track “Together” from his album “Motion. She then released her comeback single “Baby Don’t Lie” the same year and also released a new track “Spark the Fire. She along with Williams also recorded a song titled “Shine” and also featured in Eminem’s single “Kings Never Die. The following year, she released the tracks like “Used to Love You,” “What the Truth feels Like,” “Make Me Like You,” etc.
She featured on Shelton’s single “Nobody but You” from his compilation album “Fully Loaded: God’s Country” in 2019. It peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 49 on the Canadian Hot 100. Stefany along with Shelton released another single titled “Happy Anywhere” inspired by the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

Stefani and bandmate, Tony Kanal started dating soon after she joined the band. The band almost split when they broke up. In 1995, she met Bush lead singer and guitarist, Gavin Rossdale. The couple married on September 14, 2002, in St Paul’s, Covent Garden, London. They had three sons together named Kingston born in May 2006, Zuma born on August 3 and Apollo born in February 2014. In 2015, she filed for divorce and finalized on April 8, 2016. On November 2015, she announced her relationship with Blake Shelton, country music artist and The Voice co-star.
