Who is Los Angeles FC?
Los Angeles FC which is commonly referred to as LAFC is a Los Angeles, California based American professional soccer franchise. Furthermore, this team competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the Western Conference. The team plays their home games at the stadium in Exposition Park which is Banc of California Stadium. In addition, the team shares the Los Angeles area market with the LA Galaxy, and the two clubs compete in a rivalry dubbed El Tráfico.
Club’s colours
The club’s colours and logo were unveiled at Union Station on the 7th of January, 2016. Therefore, the club’s primary colours are black and gold, with accent colours red and grey.
Stadium
The team chose the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena site on the 17th of May, 2015, to build a 22,000-seat state of the art stadium for the MLS in Exposition Park, which cost $250 million. Furthermore, the group estimated that the project would create 1,200 temporary construction jobs and 1,800 full-time jobs, which would generate $2.5 million in annual tax revenue.
The stadium was approved by the Los Angeles City Council on the 6th of May, 2016, which cleared the way for the construction of the stadium.
On the 23rd of August, 2016, a groundbreaking ceremony took place. The club’s first home match was played on the 29th of April, 2018, against Seattle Sounders FC, winning 1–0.
