Osama Bin Laden – Founder of the Secret Network “Al Qaeda”

Osama bin Laden

Osama bin Laden was born in 1957, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and died on May 2, 2011. He was the founder of the militant Islamist organisation. Moreover, he is popularly known as the mastermind of numerous terrorist attacks in the United States and many other Western powers. This included the 2000 suicide bombing of the US warship Cole in the Yemeni port of Aden and September 11, 2001. Also, Pentagon near Washington, DC, on the World Trade Center in New York City.

Education of Osama bin Laden

Osama bin Laden enrolled in King Abdulaziz University in Jiddah and studied business administration. Also, he gained instruction in religious studies from Muhammad Qutb.

From Hero to Exile

After the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979, Osama joined the Afghan resistance. He believed that it was his duty as a Muslim to fight for the occupation. He trained in a mujahideen. Osama returned to Saudi Arabia as a hero, and the US referred him and his shoulders as “Freedom Fighters”.

However, Osama was not so satisfied that he believed it was a corrupt Saudi government. He then had a frustration with the US occupation of Saudi Arabia. This led to a growing rift between Osama and his country leaders. Osama spoke publicly against the government’s reliance on American troops. The government attempted many times to silence Osama. So, he had to live in exile in Sudan.

The al Qaeda

Osama formed a secret network known as al Qaeda by 1993. It comprised of militant Muslims while he served in Afghanistan. The group funded and organised global attacks worldwide. The Saudi government forced Osama for relinquishing his Saudi citizenship and seized his password. Osama then began to execute his violent plans. Also, he had an aim to draw the United States into war. His hope was to create a single, real Islamic state. Also, he was responsible for killing a tourist in Egypt. Also, they bombed the US emphasis in Kenya, Nairobi, and Tanzania. Nearly about 300 people were killed.

Osama was well-known by the Sudanese government. He got excited by the government in 1996. Osama received the protection from the country ruling Taliban militia and took refuge in Afghanistan.

9/11 and Final Days

Osama attempted many times by the year 2001 to attack several countries with the help of AL Qaeda. Also, they hijacked four commercial passenger aircraft in the US. Also, they attacked the US. Osama went on hiding. For more than 10 years, he hunted along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. On May 2, 2011, President Barack Obama announced that Osama had been killed in a terrorist compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Also, his body was taken as evidence of his death. Besides, the end of his has become the most significant achievement to defeat al Qaeda. Also, he added his demise must be welcomed as the peace and human dignity.
