Pete Buttigieg is an American politician and former US Naval Reserve officer. Moreover, since 2012, he has served as mayor of South Bend Indiana. Pete was born on January 19, 1982, in South Bend, Indiana, US, as Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg. Buttigieg is one of the two combat veterans in the 2020 United States presidential election for the Democratic Party.

Education
Buttigieg enrolled in St. Joseph High School. During his senior years, he won an essay. Also, he got select to the “United States Senate Youth Program” as an Indiana. In 2000, he certified. Later, Buttigieg enrolled at Harvard University. He completed with the degree in Literature and History n 2004. Also, in 2007, he received the first-class Honors degree from the University of Oxford, in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.

Buttigieg started his career working as an investigating intern at “WMAQ-TV”. Also, in 2002, he worked for Jill Long Thompson as an intern, and as an advisor in 2008. He worked as a conference director in 2004-05 for the international strategic consulting firm of William Cohen. Likewise, from 2007 to 2010, he worked at “McKinsey and Company” as a consultant. Furthermore, in 2010, he was a candidate for the State Treasurer of Indiana from the “Democratic Party”.
On November 8, 2011, Buttigieg named for the Mayor of South Bend. On January 1, 2012, he joined the office. He was the smallest Mayor of any US city. Particularly, he is known for making a top priority redevelopment during the administration. He’s one of the signature programs is “1000 Properties in 1000 Days”.
Moreover, in 2013, Buttigieg was named as the “Mayor of the Year”. Also, in 2014, he was “Most Interesting Mayor You’ve Never Heard Of”. Later, in November 2014, he made an announcement of seeking the second term as mayor. Also, he won by 80% of the votes and again elected on November 3, 2015.
Furthermore, in 2017, Buttigieg made an announcement, he would be an applicant for the “Democratic National Committee election for the chairmanship. Recently, on April 14, 2019, he announced, he is a democratic applicant for the 2020 Presidential election. If he is voted, he would be the first one who is open to be a gay American president.

Pete has gained many achievements in his life. In 2013, he got his name as “Mayor of the Year”. Likewise, in 2014, he became the “Rodel Fellow” of the “Aspen Institute”. Then, in 2015, he became a recipient of the “John F Kennedy New Frontier Fenn Award”.
Personal Life
Buttigieg is homosexual. He publicly declared in June 2015 about his sexual orientation. Moreover, he is the first openly gay executive in Indiana.
Pete Buttigieg announced his engagement with his boyfriend Chasten Glezman in December 2017. The pair met through a dating app. Also, the couple tied a knot on June 16, 2018.
