The Texas State Bobcats football is the Texas State University representatives of the NCAA Division I-FBS college football team. Furthermore, this program began in 1904. The team currently plays in the Sun Belt Conference. Besides, this program has a total of fourteen conference titles. Furthermore, they play their home games at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, Texas.
Texas University is the fifth-largest university in Texas and belongs to the group of 75 largest universities in the United States. Therefore, it has taken its football program to the Football Bowl Subdivision of NCAA football.
In 2012, the team also became a member of the FBS Western Athletic Conference for one season. Later, they moved to the Sun Belt Conference. However, they joined the league on July 2013. Similarly, they began conference play for the 2013–2014 academic year. Furthermore, the team has one current rivalry with the UTSA Roadrunners. They also have various other rivalries that are caused by conference realignment.
