Jacques Berman Webster II who is professionally known as Travis Scott is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. His musical style is described as a fusion of traditional hip hop, lo-fi and ambient. He gained limelight in 2012 when he signed his first major-label deal with Epic Records. He ended the year on a high note by inking a deal with Kanye West’s GOOD Music’s, VERY GOOD Beats. To mark his association, he was seen in the label’s 2012 compilation “Cruel Summer.” His journey as a rapper and singer zoomed further as he followed it with a second mixtape “Days Before Rodeo.” In 2018, his highly anticipated Astroworld was released to widespread critical acclaim and produced his first Billboard Hot 100 number one single “Sicko Mode.” As of 2020, he has sold 45 million certified records in the US alone.

Travis was born on April 30, 1991, in Houston, Texas, United States. He is currently 29 years old and has the star sign of Taurus. He is a son to mother, Wanda Webster who worked for Apple and to father, Jacques Webster who ran his own business. His father is also a soul musician. He lived with his grandmother until the age of six and eventually moved to the middle-class suburban area bordering southwest Houston, to live with his parents. His stage name is derived from his late uncle’s first name, Travis and his fellow artist, Kid Cudi whose first name is Scott.

Early Life of Travis Scott
Webster attended Elkins High School and graduated at seventeen. Then he attended the University of Texas-San Antonio, before dropping out of his sophomore year to fully pursue his music career. After dropping, he immediately moved to New York City in an attempt to start his music career. His parents were frustrated as he dropped out of school and eventually cut him off financially.
Career
After dropping out of college, Travis moved to New York City to start his career in music. Initially, he aimed to become a record producer and started focusing on hip hop production and spent much time at Just Blaze studio. He partnered with Chris Holloway and launched the band “The Graduates.” A year later in 2008, they came up with their first EP on the social networking site MySpace. He also formed a group with his classmate OG Chess and named “The Classmates” and released two projects between 2009 and 2010. The duo remained until 2012 after which they disbanded due to financial and personal problems. He faced a problem of temporary low in his life, both professionally and personally.
Subsequently, he travelled between Los Angeles-Houston-Los Angeles. Coincidentally, IT of Grand Hustle Record heard his productions “Lights Love Sick” and signed a deal with him. Scott’s first-ever full-length project was a mixtape, “Owl Pharaoh” but it was later re-created by Kanye West and Mike Dean. Meanwhile, he released the track “Blocka La Flame”. In March 2013, he released a music video of the song Quintana. Also, he became a member of the XXL’s Freshman Class of 2013.

Eventually, at the end of the year, Scott came up with a snippet of his first commercial debut single “Upper Echelon”. The next year, he came up with his song “Don’t Play,” which was a prelude to his first major-label debut studio album “Days Before Rodeo.” It was a success which led to a concert tour “The Rodeo Tour” started from March 1, 2015.
