High School and College Career
Brian enrolled in playing basketball at his school, Itawamba Agricultural High School. Also, he became a local star. Moreover, he was named “Player of the Year”, and get select in the All-State for two years. From 2002 to 2005, he also played for the 49ers.
Later, Brian played college baseball from 2006 to 2009, while at the University of Southern Mississippi, for the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles. Also, he got selected to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team and became the Freshman All-American. At Southern Miss, he had the record of .355 hits, 55 doubles, 16 home runs, 7 triples, along with 152 runs batted in. In 2009, he went to the College World Series as a member of the Southern Miss team. In 2006, he played for the Bethesda Big Train.

Minnesota Twins
Brian was selected by the Minnesota Twins for the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. In 2011, he became the Twins Minor League player. Likewise, in 2012, he was invited to spring training.
