Early Life
He was born on the 22nd of April, 1994 in York, Maine. Robinson is the son of Elisabeth and Jeffrey Robinson. Also, he is the youngest son and has a sister and a brother. His brother played one season for the Maine Black Bears men’s basketball team. He attended Rye Junior High School.
Career
Furthermore, Robinson played high school basketball for The Governor’s Academy. Later, he played a postgraduate season at Phillips Exeter Academy. There, he led the team to a New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class A championship in 2013. Furthermore, he earned the 2013 NEPSAC Class A tournament MVP.
Robinson made a huge impact in his first season of play at Michigan. He led the Big Ten Conference in three-point shooting percentage in December until February from the beginning of conference play. He made several game-changing three-point shots late in Big Ten Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament victories in his three-year career at Michigan. Also, he was a member of tournament champions in 2017 and 2018. Furthermore, Robinson was the 2018 Big Ten Conference Sixth Man of the Year. He was also the part of the 2017–18 team that reached the Championship Game of the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament.
He was undrafted in the 2018 NBA draft. However, he signed an NBA Summer League contract with the Miami Heat. He agreed to a two-way contract with the Miami Heat and Sioux Falls Skyforce on the 10th of July, 2018 after 5 summer league games. It was the first debut by a former Division III player since Devean George when Robinson made his NBA debut.
Furthermore, Robinson joined Big X, which is a team composed of former Big 10 players in The Basketball Tournament 2018. Robinson declined an invitation to participate as part of the G League-manned squad although his formal training camp did not begin until the 25th of September, 2018. Team USA used the squad from the 6th of September through the 17th of September to qualify for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
