Early Life
He was born on the 7th of February, 1988 in Tampa, Florida. Stafford is the son of John and Margaret Stafford. He lived in Dunwoody, Georgia and was the eldest son of the family. Stafford moved to Dallas, Texas and attended Highland Park High School. Coach Randy Allen coached him. Furthermore, he was considered one of the best quarterbacks in the United States in the class of 2006.
He led his team to a perfect 15-0 record in 2005. This resulted in winning the UIL 4A Division I State Championship. Furthermore, Parade named Stafford to the All-America Team. Also, USA Today named him in the Pre-Season Super 25 in 2005. Furthermore, he won the MVP and Best Arm awards at the 2005 EA Sports Elite 11 Quarterback Camp. He was named the 2005 EA Sports National Player of the Year. Rivals.com regarded Stafford as a five-star recruit.
Career
Stafford agreed to record contract terms with the Detroit Lions on the twenty-fourth of April and became the first pick of the 2009 NFL Draft a day before the draft was held. He is reported to sign a six-year contract worth $41.7 million in guaranteed money. He carried a total value of up to $78 million.
Awards
Matthew has become SEC Freshman of the Week two times in the 2006 season. Furthermore, he has received the University of Georgia‘s 2006 Offensive Newcomer of the Year Award and the 2006 SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman Team. He was also the Offensive MVP of the 2006 Chick-fil-A Bowl and received Pro Football Weekly’s All-America in 2008. Furthermore, he became the Second-team All-SEC in 2008 and was the MVP of the 2009 Capital One Bowl.

Stafford met cheerleader Kelly Hall in Georgia. The couple married on the 4th of April, 2015. The couple announced they were expecting identical twins in November of 2016. Kelly gave birth to the twins in 2017. They gave birth to their third child in 2018. Kelly Stafford revealed that she had a brain tumour on the 3rd of April, 2019 and underwent a 12-hour surgery on the 21st of April, 2019.
