Who is Robert Evans?

Robert J. Shapera or Robert Evans was a studio executive and film producer. He was born on the 29th of June, 1930 in New York City, U.S, upon the name Robert Jr. Shapera. He was a successful producer who produced hits like Love Story, Rosemary’s Baby, and Chinatown.

Career

Robert acted for various roles in several movies. However, he was not satisfied with the way he moved. So, he opted for producing.  He started as ahead of the production at Paramount. He purchased rights to a 1966 novel, The Detective, and made it into a movie in 1968. Paramount was the ninth-largest studio before Evans took over as the head of the production. However, he helped to turn the studio around and made it the most successful studio in Hollywood. Some of the movies he created as the head of the production are:

Robert was born to his parents Archie Shapera and Florence. He holds an American nationality, and as per ethnicity, he belongs to White. He has the star sign of Cancer.

Personal Life of Robert Evans

Robert has been married seven times. Sharon Hugueny is his first wife, whom he married in 1961. The couple divorced a year later, and then he married Camilla Sparv for three years. Later, he married Ali MacGraw in 1969. The couple was together for four years. He then married Phyllis George in 1977 and divorced her in 1978. Evans married Catherine Oxenberg in 1998, and the marriage was annulled after nine days. He later married Leslie Ann Woodward in 2002 for two years. Finally, he married his seventh wife, Victoria White O’Gara, in 2005. O’Gara filed for divorce on 16th of June, 2006.

Robert has one son named Josh Evans, whose mother is MacGraw. His son is also a film producer. Evans died on the 26th of October, 2019, in Beverly Hills, California, at the age of 89.
