Brandon Routh was born on 9th October 1979 in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. He is the third child of his parents among the four children. His father, Ronald Ray Routh, was a carpenter and his mother, Catherine LaVaughn (née Lear), was a teacher. He was raised in a Methodist family background but he has all English, Scottish, German, and Dutch ancestry. His grown place, Norwalk, was approximately miles (160 km) south of Woolstock. This was the birthplace of George Reeves and the first actor to play the Superman series on Television. When he was a child, he used to think about being a part of a full-time actor that was very unrealistic as he was citing from a small-town background. He used to play piano and trumpet in his spare childhood time.
Brandon attended Norwalk High School. He got active in playing sports there and also participated in theatre and music. He attended this school at the time when Jason Momoa (later actor of DC superheroes film) attended this school. Brandon has always been Momma’s boy and was never a popular kid during his school days. Growing up, Brandon started to grow interested in comic book and superman related movies. After attending the University of Iowa to be an aspiring writer, he modeled and acted for his survival and to pay his tuition expenses. He left the university in 1999 to move to Manhattan and then Los Angeles after that. This was the time when his full-time acting career started appearing as an extra in Christina Aguilera’s music video.
Career
Brandon debuted in the acting world in 1999 from an episode of the ABC television series named Odd Man Out. He had a four-episode role in MTV’s nighttime soap operas season 3. He subsequently emerged on WB’s Gilmore Girls. This was a 2001 February episode “Concert Interruptus” where he played the role of an attendee of a Bangles concert. Brandon earned steady soap opera work, One Life to Live portraying the character of Seth Anderson.
