He was born on the 9th of January, 1993 in Oakland, California, with the birth sign of Capricorn. He was raised by his father Michael Peters. Peters attended McClymonds High School located in Oakland, California. Also, He played football and ran track in high school. Furthermore, He played as a cornerback for coach Curtis McCauley. However, he opted to stand on his combine numbers and only performed positional drills. Peters attended pre-draft visits with multiple teams. These teams included the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans. Furthermore, He attended a private workout with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Kansas City Chiefs selected Peters in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft as the 18th overall. He was the third cornerback drafted in 2015. Furthermore, he became the highest defensive back drafted from Washington since Dana Hall in 1992. He signed to a fully guaranteed four-year, $9.58 million contracts with the Kansas City Chiefs on the 15th of May, 2015. It included a signing bonus of $5.23 million. The Kansas City Chiefs traded Peters to the Los Angeles Rams on the 14th of March, 2018. The Rams exercised the fifth-year option on Peters’ contract on the 24th of April. Peters was traded to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for linebacker Kenny Young and a 2020 fifth-round selection on the 15th of October, 2019.
